my story
hey there!
this is me and my little baby bear
We live in Ocean Grove, a coastal town on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula. We made the sea change after living in Melbourne and haven’t looked back, we love it here!
My little family is my everything, they feed my soul and my creativity. Maddie (I call her Moo) is my muse and I dread the day she says no to photos LOL
Before I was taking photos of families I was a landscape photographer (oh, and worked for a big finance company but I’ve said goodbye to that life). I haven’t had much time to get out in nature lately, but now Moo is bigger I’m hoping it’s something we can do together. Chasing waterfalls is my favourite!
(PS. I’m obsessed with Moo’s wallpaper!)
i’m a lifestyle
photographer
What does that mean I hear you say???
I like to think it’s a cross between documentary and portraiture photography. I’ll give you some direction (like I’ll ask everyone to hug Mum as tight as you can, or I might ask Dad to tell his best dad joke), but there’s no posing! And what we get are natural, fun, REAL photos of your family enjoying just being with each other.
Think of our photo session as an hour of family time where you all get to be fully engaged with each other.
I aim to create memories that you, your kids, and their kids can cherish forever. I truly believe the most important thing in the world is family and love. The feels I get when I’m photographing a loving family is off the chart, for me its total joy!
I’m always striving to improve my photography by attending workshops, working with talented mentors and I’m part of a supportive community of like-minded family photographers. I hold a current Working with Children Check, I’m immunised against whooping cough and keep my family up to date with COVID vaccinations.

I have a mission:
to inspire and enable
women
to regularly document the
love & connection
they share with their
children
Too often we’re the family photo-taker and not the one being photographed (or we have to ask our partners to take photos and they’re nearly always unflattering – do you know what I mean?). I’m so SO passionate about documenting the love women have for their children (and their children for them!) because this time goes by too fast, and I truly believe that the best time of our lives is when our kids are little.
my biggest fear is my girl looking back at our family photos and not seeing me anywhere!
Your kids need to see how hard you loved them when they look back on your family photos – because on day soon, they’ll grow up to be teenagers and might forget that, only a few years ago, you were EVERYTHING to them. That’s what happened to me, and it wasn’t until I had Maddie that I realised how much I loved my mum. I wish I had more photos to look back on and see that love that we had for each other.
my work is best known for
fun, natural and easy family sessions,
and dreamy sunsets
by the beach
relaxed and love-filled
newborn sessions
in the comfort of your
home
intimate maternity and newborn sessions
at my natural light
studio
in Ocean Grove
but my deepest passion is
documenting my family
our everyday life
in all it’s glorious,
messy chaos
Photos from my 2021 Photo A Day Project
that’s enough about me
I’d love to know more about you!
big love, Jo
